Whisperings of the Taxus trees
༠ Taxus Dialogue ༡
Performative Taxus landscape with Cyanotype.
An in-situ Cyanotype installation was made to explore further the interconnectedness between the natural Yew world and the human being.
Where the Yew tree serves as a subject to the art process it simultaneously becomes also its own creator. Time, sun, shades, wind and other natural interference are playing a crucial role in the physical appearance of the image in this process. They act as a mirror of those very specific time and space coordinates, which our human existence is also made of.
The materialised image takes form as a silky feel scarf and is used in the installation performance “Taxus Dialogue” highlighting the absence of sight in order to stimulate our sensing abilities around the Yew trees and our inseparable connection and integration with the natural world.
The video documents the Cyanotype installation process as well as the artistic
performance within the sacred space of Yew trees to be found in Elizabeth Park,
Brussels (Belgium). It is guided along with a spoken poem residing the tangibility of
life itself.

Poem
Here.
You lay your imprint.
On me.
Delicately.
You swirl timelessness.
Up and down, back and forth.
Dancing between memories.
You root down further.
Softly touching.
With intelligence.
Observing.
Navigating.
Patterning.
Dreaming.
You are me.
I am you.
Giving us eternal life.
Receiving home.
Now.
From my heart to yours.
